Introducing my very first
Steampunk art piece!
I had so much fun creating this for
my swap partner, Lynn.
(you can see the amazing piece I received from Lynn here).
I used this great image from
The Graphics Fairy.
I have wanted to try my hand at the Steampunk style for quite a while now,
I am a huge Tim Burton fan,
so I cannot believe it took me this long to jump in.
I feel revitalized creatively,
which has inspired me to keep going,
to try something new each week,
and hopefully,
post about it here on
Something New Mondays.
I would also love to hear how you have challenged yourself this week.
Please leave a comment sharing your story.

Thanks fantastic Kimberly, you have a flair for steampunk! I love the swan. The only thing new i've one this week is painting skirting boards and trims, i didn't think my husband was ever going to let me wave a brush....no such luck!

What fun..glad you took the plunge. This is truly a great piece. Do you have a special glue for metal pieces? I've been working with wire, metal and wood this past week hope to do a post mid week. Have fun
your "first" attempt? oh my...it's just awesome! well done! ;)
Awesome!
Dig it! What wonderful, whimsical elements you brought together. I want my own mechanical swan! I challenged myself by finishing the "A Day At The Beach" ATC swap at the 11th hour and by potting some succulent pots with wee jewel-like plants. - Amy B

Kimberly you should have seen my face when I opened your Steampunk tin. I lit up like a Christmas tree. Even my DH who rarely says mush about anything thought it was AWESOME too!

I just love what you have done! So creative moving in the three dimensional world. I have used that image from Graphics Fairy before, and I just love her, and she's perfect for this. Can't wait to see what you do next!
I LOVE Steampunk and your creations is amazing! This week I challenged myself by figuring out how to incorporate my vintage hankies into pillows.

FABULOUS! I am entranced with and love steampunk. This is so wonderful. I think I do not try to create anything steampunk as I couldn't do it justice like others do. So...I enjoy it from afar. This week I inspired Mr. C to design a simple wooden bench for the yard...that "we" can build with leftover deck lumber. Summer Sunshine Smiles Dear...
You are a steampunk fairy indeed! This absolutely stunning!
waouhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
superbe
