As my quiet little protest,
I will be closing my etsy shops tonight,
they will remain closed until Friday morning.
I see no earthly reason why we, as a country,
can no longer dedicate one uninterrupted day
for time spent with family.
Sadly, I think the decision by retail stores
to open on Thursday
speaks volumes about what is wrong
with the heart of America.
Shopping is NOT more important than
eating until you have to unbutton your pants,
laughing until you cry,
and giving thanks for the love
and non-material gifts you have been given.
Okay, I will put away my soapbox,
and wish you all
a beautiful day tomorrow.
