Summer Dreaming

Forgive me for my absence,
June has all but gone.
When I haven't been planting and fluffing outside,
I have been here, working at my desk.

This clematis vine only produced one flower this year.
Luckily it was a beautiful one which bloomed brightly for a few days.

Hoping all your summer dreams are coming true!
hugs,
Kim

Spring Cleaning

Okay, you got me, yesterday was not technically Spring,
but the house was in need of a good power wash all the same.

We hired a local company to come out to remove six years of dust and cobwebs from the exterior of our house.

When the job was done, the gentleman who had done an otherwise wonderful job, proudly showed me how amazing this guy looked after he cleaned him up. I smiled politely and thanked him, but inside

I cried a little. The moss and patina that had gathered after years of purposeful neglect were all removed from my beautiful garden statue. Some men just don't get it.

Mini Garden Tour - Day 2

Come sit a spell as we tour the backyard gardens.

Yellow is the happiest color, half the rooms in our home are painted yellow, and I even drive a yellow car.

I love metal, nearly every planter has something metal in it.

We have a wonderful local nursery, that carries an amazing variety of annuals. It is so much fun shopping and then putting these arrangements together.

Here's our salad bowl. Baby lettuces to munch. This is the edible, other than herbs that I planted this year.

I love this guy! He will be the center piece of our secret garden someday.

Lilies are one of my favorites.

More metal, an old ice cream parlor chair now holds a beautiful cascade of tiny white flowers.

And yes, even more metal. Old, odd containers make wonderful planters.
Thanks for visiting today.

A Mini Garden Tour - Day 1

Welcome to my little corner of the Garden State, (that's New Jersey for those not in the know).

This is not so much a garden tour,

as it is a flower tour.

We have great plans for a beautiful English front garden,

and fun ideas for our very own secret garden,

but until we have finished all of the hardscape work on the property,

our garden plans will have to wait,

but no one ever disputed the JOYs of container gardening.
