I spent a few rainy hours last weekend

playing with paper scraps

and assorted bits.

Stash To Treasure Saturday - #4

Welcome to week 4 of

STASH TO TREASURE SATURDAY!

Each week I take some long-neglected item(s) from my stash

and create something new.

I know we all have those items,

it is covered in a half inch of dust,

the style is so 2000s,

the theme is no longer relevant.

I am going to try my best to take those items and breathe new life into them.

This week I am using several tags I made a few years ago

(the photos are marked 2017, however, the tags were made some time before then).

The first pair of tags (above)

now grace the covers of a pair of mini memo books (below).

The tag pictured above,

now covers a handmade junk journal (below).

The inside pages are coffee dyed,

but have been left blank,

leaving plenty of room for photos, writing, and embellishment.

The final tag (above)

is now a greeting card for a dear friend (below).

I am still considering turning this feature into

a weekly link-up party.

A Little More Help From Some Friends!

 A couple of posts ago,

I shared how I love to find inspiration

 in some of the beautiful little tuck-ins

 that art friends sometimes include in swap packages.

I have 2 new pieces to share today

which also include these sweet gifts.

Last Autumn,

Dorthe sent me a beautiful gift 

which she wrapped with this luscious aqua tulle ribbon and  rose.

A vintage image, pretty papers, charms, and seam binding

made for a sweet tag,

but Dorthe's elegant embellishment elevated this tag to the next level.

This tag was begging for one more finishing element.

I received a bag of these itty-bitty pink shells

a few years ago in  a swap packet.

I am sorry, but I cannot remember who sent them.

I have used them in several projects,

they are just darling.

Wrapping Up A Swap

Brown paper packages,

tied with orange seam binding,

finished with a clip,

that is how I wrapped the

Halloween Tag Swap returns last week.

Inside,

each bundle was topped with a witchy ornament.

My Halloween swaps are done,

whew!

(well, for this year anyway)

Here They Come!

The first half of the

Halloween Tag Swaps are in the mail,

the other half will head out tomorrow.

 

I tried my best to put together little collections

that compliment each other,

and then tried to match them to the recipient.

I checked 3 times to be sure no one received their tag in return,

but if you did,

please accept my apology.

 

In the end,

we were 22 swappers,

each with our own flair.

Everyone brought your A game,

and for that I thank you.

 

I also must say a huge thank you

for all of the lovely extras I received,

including an extra tag for me

(my swap "book" is awesome,

see the photo below),

BOOtiful crafting supplies

(which I have plans for),

and thoughtful gifties.

These extras are never expected,

but always appreciated.

I do regret that in my frenzy of swaps

and life,

that I did not reach out to each of you with a personal thank you.

What Is It About Owls?

 

Why do find them so intriguing?

Is it because they are so wise?

Or because they are so dark?

Or because they are so beautiful?

Whatever the reason,

I am loving these images I purchased from

ARTchix Studio.

I printed these beautiful vintage images on fabric,

and collaged them together with gorgeous lace and trims from my stash.
