Thrifty Thursday Crafting

I purchased these 3 items on a recent trip to Dollar Tree.

While the bunny faces are cute,
they aren't really my thing.
A little nail polish remover made quick work of erasing most of the image.
There was still a "ghost" in the face area,
so I used the back side of the eggs.
The eggs were much cleaner,
I feel it was worth doing this step.

Paint the clay pots with any acrylic paint.

This is what I used.

It took 2 coats of paint,
followed by a light sanding to get the look I was after.

Hot glue the paper shreds around the edge of the pots
to make a nest.

Glue the eggs into the center of the nests.
I used Thickers glitter letters by American Crafts
to spell J O Y on the eggs,
and decorated the O with a bit of excelsior and a velvet pansy.

Happy JOYful Spring!

hugs,
Kim

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter.

I made something for the Easter table that I have been thinking about for a long time.
(The flowers were from my boys :-)

I created a velvet egg to nestle in with my velvet bunnies.

I covered a large plastic egg with silk velvet,
added vintage trim,
some vintage millinery flowers,
a spray of vintage wired pearls,
and a bit of German glass glitter.

I confess that this was one of those projects that seemed very daunting,
probably the reason why it was on my mind for a few years
before it became a reality.

Having worked out the details,
I am pretty sure I will be making more in the future.

I have been busily creating cards for
Operation Write Home.
I will photograph them before mailing
and be sure to share them here soon.

Wishing you lovely Spring days.

A Victorian Easter Basket

Just hopping by to share my newest project for
A Gilded Life's
Gilded Girls Stash Society private blog.

March's kit included all of this beautiful goodness,
plus 3 gorgeous artisan papers from Jeanne d' Arc
in a beautiful mix of cream and grey.
I used all 3 patterns on this basket.

Panoramic Easter Egg-part 2

My Panoramic Easter Egg has arrived at its destination,
so I can now share my creation with you.

For some reason I love to make my matchboxes into hanging ornaments.
I created a little lace egg which I tucked inside my "egg."

The top is this adorable vintage basket that I filled with pretty vintage millinery
and sprinkled a little glitter.

I was so happy to be creating Something Special
for my dear friend Michele.

Wishing You All A JOYous Easter,
Filled With Blessings,
Kimberly

Can You Believe It?

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday,

which means that Easter is just over that bunny hill.

I am trying to get a few Easter things made for my etsy.

This piece was a special order,
but I think I will make a couple more for the shop.

enJOY a lovely day
and a blessed
Easter Season,
Kimberly
