A Little Project, A Long Time In The Making

Last week I finally finished a project that has been on my mind for a long time.
 It was August 2013,
that I joined the Marie Antionette Mail Art Group's
French General mini envelope swap.
The stack of beautifully embellished envelopes sat patiently for all this time.

.The goal was to create a book with those beautiful envelopes.

Fast forward to April's
French General ATC swap that I hosted.
Liz wrapped her ATCs in this beautiful French ticking fabric.
It was the absolute perfect piece to wrap my front and back covers!
Thanks Liz, how did you know!
The cover ATC is the one I created for an example of
"French General Style."

Inside,
the envelopes are the perfect size to tuck the ATCs  I received in our swap.

All of the works on the inside of the book are by different artists.

I also tucked in some of the lovelies that were gifted to me.

One artist made the envelope
and another the ATC.
Serendipity at its best!

The finished book is HUGE,
it doesn't come close to closing,
but that okay with me.
This is a true work of  heARTs.

Wishing you a beautifully heARTsy week!

Another Swap To Share

I joined the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group's
Spring Flower Swap.

I created these little blooms with
a mix of vintage and new supplies.
The yoyo flowers were made with
the loveliest lavender silk dupioni.

I did a tutorial on making yoyo flowers
on my old blog way back in 2010.
You can revisit it here:

wishing you JOY,
Kimberly

Been Sew Busy

Spring fever has hit!
I have been cleaning,
rearranging,
packing away all of the extra clutter that seems to appear every winter.

All of this has left little creative time.
I did manage to create this needle book for
my swap partner, Terri.
This was a one-on-one swap with the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.
I will leave you to quietly peek through the book.
(remember, you can click on any picture to view it larger)

I have a busy month coming in May,
lots of family celebrations!
My youngest son is graduating college,
and will be going on to
Cornell's graduate engineering program in the Fall.
(I am so very happy for him,
and dare I say, just a little bit proud).

I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter.
hugs and JOY,
Kimberly

Swapping Is Fun!

You know how much I love a good swap.
These are the things I have created
for the March swaps I joined.

Speaking of swaps,
I hope all of our
"Pink, Black, and Bling"
swappers have their ATCs in the mail,
today is the due date.

en-JOY a sweet weekend,
Kimberly

Just a quick share.
I made this Halloween spoolie for a
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group Swap.

Very little Halloween crafting this year,
and not the best photo either-
sorry about that.

Have you ever heard of a
Corky Beaded Charlotte Doll?

Me neither, at least until I signed up for a swap with
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.
The body for these little cuties are, of all things,
a champagne cork, and you build from there.

This is the one I made for my swap partner,
so much fun!

I am participating in another "Fabric of Nature" ATC swap.
This time, Gloria is hosting for
Altered Souls Art Group.

I made my 6 ATCs the same.  Each has a ceramic butterfly that my Grandmother made.  She gave me a box of small ceramic pieces like these to "make something pretty with."

Remember these?  I wasn't overJOYed with how they turned out.  Well, I did go back and tweak them just a bit.

Better, no?

Here's another little dress ATC for a swap with a friend.

enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly
