Stash To Treasure Saturday - #2

Welcome to week 2 of
STASH TO TREASURE SATURDAY!
Each week I take some long-neglected item(s) from my stash
and create something new.
I know we all have those items,
the color is not now,
the style is so 2000s,
the theme is no longer relevant.
I am going to try my best to take those items and breathe new life into them.

Today I am sharing some vintage crochet pansies.
I have lost count of how many of these lovely pansy-edged doilies
have made their way home with me over the years.
I coffee dyed this one a while back,
used a few of the sweet flowers,
but these tattered remains have sat for quite some time.

By adding vintage stamens and velvet leaves
what was once old,
is new again.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Please leave a comment.
At the end of the month,
I will announce a random winner
of a special gift.
(only one comment per post will be entered).

Lovely weekend to you all,
hugs,
Kim

Another Swap To Share

I joined the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group's
Spring Flower Swap.

I created these little blooms with
a mix of vintage and new supplies.
The yoyo flowers were made with
the loveliest lavender silk dupioni.

I did a tutorial on making yoyo flowers
on my old blog way back in 2010.
You can revisit it here:

wishing you JOY,
Kimberly

Tuesday Trading Card Swap

week 7's theme is:
Tulip

I am a little behind this week, after being away for the weekend,
so I only have 2 cards completed,
but if I have any additional  interested swappers,
I will gladly create more.

This week I dug into my fabric stash to create these
tiny paper pieced quilt blocks.

The theme is Tulip, not quilt block,
so please feel free to create your ATC using any medium you feel comfortable working in.

I have received so many emails from followers that don't feel ready to share their art.
Can I just say, that I am by no stretch of the imagination an artist,
the best grade I received in High School Art was a C+
(the nuns didn't get my interpretation of the subject matter, I guess).

ATCs are tiny canvases that encourage us to try new techniques
and to stretch our creativity without becoming overwhelmed by a larger project.

Be sure to create something that speaks to you and your style,
some have voiced that they weren't sure if a card they create would be what I was looking for,
not my style.
I don't expect your creation to be "my style,"
it is made with your hand and should reflect that.

Here's how the trade works:
Every Tuesday I will post 3 ATCs that I have created.
I will name a theme for that week,
and invite you to join me in a swap.
You will email me with your mailing address:
and create and send one ATC in that week's theme.
Use any medium you choose.
Be sure to autograph your work.
I will return email you with my mailing address.

I will gladly accept more than 3 swappers any given week,
as long as time permits.

Please feel free to grab this button and link back to this post.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Too Pretty

I love the beauty and romance of vintage hats,

circled by a wreath of luscious velvet millinery flowers,

pristine puffs of pink,

perfectly preserved loveliness.

Wishing you and yours a lovely Saturday,
enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly

Wishing You A Beautiful Sunday

Remember to stop and smell the flowers, put your feet up while you enJOY a cup of your favorite tea, and take a moment to give thanks for it all.
enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly
