Stash To Treasure Saturday

This little journal was another one of my
"it took forever"
projects.

For the past year,
I have been squirreling away little altered tags and collage pieces.

Not sure what they would become.

I wish I remembered to take photos of the pile I was working with.

This little rosette is more likely 2 years old.

Most of the papers are collage papers by Tim Holtz.

There are a number of tags with decoupage paper napkins.

The collage pages feature reproduced vintage images from
Tim Holtz, Land of Nods, and my personal collection.

The right page above is coffee-dyed parchment
with paper and a floral image sandwiched in the middle.

This page is a flip with a tag tuck spot.
(I am learning the junk journal lingo,
be patient with me, please)

Old book pages, paper doilies, coffee-dyed paper fill out the journal.

One last collage, which includes bits of lace, buttons and floral trim.

The tags are treated like a book pages.

This little cutie will make it's way into my Etsy shop soon!

Thanks so much for visiting,
and wading through the long post.

hugs,
Kim

Round Robin - Round 8

My latest page for
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Round Robin
is for Lynn's Journal.

Her chosen theme is
Vintage Paris
in whites and ivory.

I used a genuine antique tintype photo.

The back is simply papered with
antique French book pages.

enJOY a sweet weekend,
and your blessings,

Making Lemonade Out Of Lemons (Limes)

Mary at Green Paper has decided to make her challenges a monthly event.  The first week of each month, she will provide beautiful images from her collection and challenge us to create something new using those images.

I eagerly printed September's images onto fabric a week ago.  Pulled Mary's wonderful images of actress/singer Lillian Russell out of my printer tray, only to realize that my ink cartridges needed changing and everything was green.

Disgusted and hating myself for being so wasteful, I put the fabric sheet aside and pretty much forgot about it until this morning.

I was planning to make the journal in sepia tones, but now it is green and purple.
A glass of limeade anyone?

enJOY,
Kimberly

Having Fun With New Fabric Projects

With my first show of the season just 2 weeks away, the crunch is on.  I have been making fabric covered journals, these 2 will be headed to the antiques mall, they sell as fast as I make them there.

Making a variety of fabric tags, I am loving the white burlap.  I purchased a huge supply, with a few home projects in mind, but have been using it in my crafting.

This is a little pocket fashioned from a small vanity scarf, vintage buttons and an antique French postcard reproduced onto fabric.  I really want to fill this little pouch, but have creative block and for now it remains empty.

Anyone who has ever purchased from me during Christmas is familiar with my long knit stocking Faeries.

I have made and sold dozens over the past few years.

Well, the time has come, I just finished my last 5 large knit stocking faeries.

I don't think I will be listing these in the shop this year, but will take them to shows and/or the antiques mall.  If you are interested in one of them before they are gone, please email me (kimlaws@verizon.net) and I can bill you through Paypal.  They are $14.00 each plus shipping.

Thanks for visiting today
& please scroll down for today's Birthday Bash post.

enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly
