A Post That Has Been 12 Months In The Making

Early last January, this humble little book went out into the world.

Late last September, after an 11,000+ mile journey,
it arrive back home.

For a few months more, it sat unfinished,
needing only one more page to complete it.

Coming up with a page for your own Round Robin Journal should be easy,
shouldn't it?
Finally, a few weeks ago, the lyrics came in an inspired moment.
What better way to sum up a work of art created by 12 sets of hands,
than those pearls of wisdom from the Beatles?

Works of art by members of
Kindred Souls Art Group.

This group is overflowing with talent,
and so too, is my journal.

Many thanks to all who contributed.

Round Robin - round 11
"Faces"
I cannot believe it,
this is the last journal page for
Kindred Souls Art Group.

Well, almost last,
I haven't done a page in my journal yet.
I am excitedly awaiting the return of my journal.
The pages I have seen thus far (via posted pictures) are gorgeous!
I will share the lot hopefully very soon.

Round Robin - round 10
"Illustrated Phrases"

My latest work for the RR at
 Artistic Souls Art Group:
I am not sure whether or not I missed the mark on this theme.

I am happy with the way the page looks,
(I am LOVING bright colors lately),
and I think the page sort of illustrates the quote.

I am just unsure as to what the owner of this journal intended for her theme,
but then again, it is my "artistic" take on the theme, right?

It is already in the mail, on to its next stop,
so all I can do is
wish you a lovely sunshiny day,
my friends.

enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly

Round Robin - round 9
Time For Love
Steampunk Style

These bound journals always perplex me.
What to do with the bits between the binding wires?

Good old tissue tape to the rescue!
The orange tape is in the French Ephemera set from Cavallini.
I stripped it with a thin black tape.

I also finished(?) these for the
"Up, Up, and Away"
Steampunk ATC Swap
at Altered Souls Art Group.
Not sure that I am madly in love with them yet,
there's still time to mull that one over before sending them in.

I hope your day has you soaring sky-high!

en-JOY a lovely weekend &
Your Blessings,
Kimberly

Round Robin - Round 8

My latest page for
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Round Robin
is for Lynn's Journal.

Her chosen theme is
Vintage Paris
in whites and ivory.

I used a genuine antique tintype photo.

The back is simply papered with
antique French book pages.

enJOY a sweet weekend,
and your blessings,
Kimberly

Round Robin - Round 7

This is my latest work for
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Round Robin.

This journal belongs to Socrates,
and she has requested the theme
of "Steampunk Travel By Air."

Her heroine is Magdalena
and she is on her Grand Tour.

I have Magdalena visiting London,
a city that I hold near and dear to my own heart.

The back of the page holds a post card,
that when flipped out,
contains a note from Magdalena to Socrates.

Packed and off goes another journal!

enJOY Your Blessings,
Kimberly

Round Robin - Round 5

"Inspirational Quotes
in Shabby Chic style"
was the request for this journal.
I am so loving this
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Round Robin!

(for those of you following closely,
not to worry,
5 still comes before 6,
I just posted these last 2 journals out of order.
oops ;0)

What are you loving today?

Round Robin - Round 6

Do you remember where this adventure began?
Way back in January,
I created this journal for
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Journal Round Robin.
I used an antique book cover,
created pages with water color paper,
which I secured with ribbons tied around the spine.

I finished off the ribbon ends with antique and vintage trinkets.
You can revisit my original post here.

I was honored beyond words,
when our group's founder
asked if I would create the cover for her journal!

I began with and old quilt scrap,
and layered laces and buttons,
images, and baubles.

I so loved the look of the tied trinkets,
from my journal,
that I used the idea again
for Gloria's journal.
This time the ribbons are purely decorative,
as the pages are secured using binder rings.

Inside cover view.

Back inside cover view.

Back outside cover view.

I tried to include many of Gloria's requests,
lace,
pink and cream,
birds,
crowns,
keys.
The little crochet flower on the cover
was even crocheted by my little ole' hands :0)

I have to confess that I had a great deal of angst
over taking on responsibility for someone else's cover,
but I enJOYed the process.
I hope Gloria will be happy
once her journal finds its way back home to her.

I will be linking here:

I hope you are enJOYing a lovely holiday weekend
filled with family, friends,
love and Blessings,
Kimberly

Round Robin - Round 4

My latest page for the
Kindred Souls Art Group's
Round Robin.

This amazing journal sat untouched
for nearly 2 weeks.

Once I decided to use this Faded Grey paper
for my background,
the page almost made itself.

The door is from Navel Jelly Studios.
The hinges, distress ink,
quote stamp (see 2 pictures down),
and key (on back page)
are by Tim Holtz.
The window is from Retro Cafe.

The image of the girl is PaperWhimsy,
and other images are ARTchix.

I do not remember who manufactured the min stamps
used on the background.

The tape used along the left edge is Teresa Collins.

I covered the back of the page in this fun flocked paper,
it reminds me of wallpaper.

I am not including links for any supplies mentioned,
if you are interested in finding any of these,
simply ask the google,
and he will happily point you in the right direction.

enJOY a lovely weekend
and Your Blessings,
Kimberly
