While sorting a pile of whatnots on my work table,

I came across the leftover teacup images I used for one of my ATC swaps.

Oftentimes, I find it terribly uninspiring to work on multiple pieces with the same theme,

this morning, however, I found it to be very freeing,

and I was quite productive.

This one is my favorite,

a fabric tag made from a remnant quilt piece.

 

A mix of paper, fabric, lace, and a couple vintage buttons

combined to create this blank greeting card.

 

An extra image in green became the inspiration

for a new mini supply kit.

 

Finally, these two cards will be heading out to

"Operation Write Home."

It's Tea Time!

This is a little teacup pincushion I made a few years ago,

but I thought it was the perfect picture to share

as a reminder:

Charlottes, Teacups, And Pins, Oh My!

 

Two new Charlotte pincushions,

just fresh from my studio,

and just in time for tea.

 

 

Each is created with nearly all vintage and antique items,

including the German Charlotte doll head,

flower components,

cup and saucer,

stickpin,

spoon,

 and pearl beads.

 

 

Each is made with scrumptious, hand-dyed silk velvet,

and silk ribbon.

 

 

Each stands a demure 4 1/4 inches high,

the cups are demitasse sized,

just too sweet.

 

 

I have a list of customers interested in my

Marie pincushions,

rest assured, they are on their way.

Alice's Tea Party Swap

Alpha Stamps

mine are all the same,

which is why I only have photos of one of my teapots.

Keeping to the tea theme

and surrounded by some of my favorite scraps,

I created this small matchbox inspiration kit

for our hostess.

Serendipity

I so love when serendipity pops in for a visit.  A couple weeks ago, I popped into the Burlington Antiques and Art Emporium.  Just passing by, I had an etsy customer interested in some items that I had at the Mall, no time to shop, just grab and run.  Another vendor was just arriving with her new inventory and price tickets in hand.  I inquired about the beautiful hand painted tray, the colors are amazing.  She told me it was $19.00, I was sold, but then she decided the $17.00 was enough.  It feels a little like stealing.

Back at home, I had a bid on the 6 enamel ware cups, vintage Mackenzie-Childs.  I won the auction!  The sad thing/embarrassing thing is, I never made the connection that these would go together.

At least not until the cups arrived in the mail.  I was so excited when I realized that the cups were such an amazing match for the tray.  The next day, I glanced at the shelf housing my collection of chintz dishes and other vintage Mackenzie-Childs, and realized that I had the sugar and creamer that were also a perfect match! 

Now, while I am thrilled with how this set created itself, I am perplexed.  Did it take me so long to make the connection because I have too much STUFF, (can't be that), or do I just chalk it off to another senior moment?

Madhatter's Tea Party Ginormous Tag Swap!

One of my favorites online stores is AlphaStamps, and since I am a repeat customer, I have decided to participate in a couple of the swaps they are currently running.

The theme of the Madhatter's swap is tea party, black and red, and using certain AlphaStamps products. It did not need to be Alice-related, just tea party.

I love these challenges, red and black are not colors I generally associate with tea, nor are they colors I work in very often, but I enJOYed the process and am happy with the results.

That will be all for now, I need to get to work on my youngest's high school graduation invites...the school colors are red and black.
