Altered Journal Round Robin, Round 2...

...or,
does this ever happen to you?
"Vintage, Eclectic, Gentlemen"
is the theme chosen by Stephen,
for his journal in the
Kindred Souls Yahoo Group's
Round Robin.

What came to mind first was,
of course,
Tim Holtz supplies.
I grabbed tissue tape,
distress inks,
and a shoebox filled with masculine,
steampunkie Tim stuff
and got to work.

Things were going great,
and then,
that word, "eclectic" popped into my mind like a big neon sign.
Stephen created and awesome journal using Tim Holtz papers,
and Elena created an equally awesome page using Tim Holtz embellishments.
I thought,
"How eclectic is this journal going to be if everyone uses supplies from the same designer?"
So, I tore apart my "masterpiece" (yeah right),
and went in a new direction.

I have wanted to do a cowboy piece for quite a while,
and decided
no time like the present.

I have been collecting sweet vintage western themed bits,
like this gumball machine prize,

and the toy deputy badge,
and Texas pin.

For background papers,
I made an unusual choice,
papers from
French General.
Even the floral paper I used didn't seem too feminine,
it reminds me of a bandanna.

Stephen and Elena both used
Laurel and Hardy
images on the reverse,
and I thought it would be fun to continue the tradition.

You can revisit the page I did for Elena here,
and my journal here.

I hope you are enJOYing a lovely weekend,
and Your Blessings,
Kimberly

Dear Kimberly,
I loved the start you maDE with the T.H. pieces, -but find your disitision about somethink totally different, so refreshing- and WOW what a wonderful western creation you made - those cute mini pieces dangling are great, and the blue-red -and handsome cowboy with the STAR , makes it a gorgeous art piece.
Hugs from me, in a very cold and storming place, near the Baltic Sea !!!

Howdy. Your round robin mates will certainly like this change of scenery. Then they can turn to the back side for a little smile. Charming.
